1. Use only one ply toilet paper or camper style toilet paper in your system. These types of toilet paper break down in water better and help prevent possible clogging. While end for ending the rigging
2. When pumping the holding tank overboard with your Whale Gusher Pump, be careful to notice any undue pressure on the pump handle while pumping. This can mean something is blocking the line and further pumping can possibly cause the rubber diaphram of the pump to rupture.
3. Blockage in holding tank line could cuase the diaphram in the Whale Pump to fail.
4. Inform all guests and crew members that paper towels, cigarette butts and sanitary napkins are not to be flushed down the toilet.
A good practice to follow with marine swagged rigging is to end-for-end all standing rigging at least once a year. This prevents moisture from standing in the lower eye for extended periods of time causing a corrosion problem later on. While end-for-ending the rigging all swags should be checked for cracking, all wire for fraying, and all turnbuckles and toggles for cracking also.
Note: If the engine does not start immediately, open the ½”muffler drain valve and continue trying to start the engine. This will prevent water from filling up the muffler and flowing back into the engine through the exhaust manifold and causing damage to the engine. Close the muffler drain valve when the engine starts.
It has come to our attention that there are some fittings which are part of the lifeline system in which the welds may lack structural integrity. It is important to imspect these fittings and notify us if they appear to be cracked or welded incompletely.
The fitting is the stainless steel ring used at the lifeline gates. These rings are welded to thestainless steel sleaves which screw on to the lifeline itself. The critical point is the point at which these are welded.
